Our intention? Through the discovery of contact improvisation and folk dances, we will open a laboratory space to explore the origin of movement and human dynamics, we will ask ourselves why the profound need of dance, from inner personal self-expression to different forms of collective expression and togetherness. We want to open a dialogue between the power of structure and roots of traditional dances and the never ending source of creativity of contact improvisation.
This movement laboratory will guide us in self and collective reflections, starting from the listening of the body, with the simple and strong power of attention and presence. We will see which questions can emerge about our professional and personal lives, in order to get new insight about facilitation groups.
In this training course we will explore:
- contact improvisation: experimenting our physicality with the notion of gravity, anchorage, support, and another way of being in contact with others
- folk dances: discovering various couple and group traditional dances from Europe, from the sense of belonging to the subtle connection with others
- the bridge of contact improvisation and folk dances: dance laboratory around this two practises mixed, experiencing the qualities they nourish and the new ones they let emerge
- voice exploration and folk singing: learning folk dances singing and creating a space of self-expression through the voice
- somatic practises: unfolding a deep listening of inhabiting our body with presence and attention, to understand better our emotions and ways of acting
- personal grounding and collective reflections: opening gates of curiosity about oneself and others and to nourish reflections about our perceptions, discoveries and questions about our personal and professional lives
Keys outcomes, objectives:
- implement a laboratory about questioning our personal and professional lives with embodiments practises
- develop self awareness and better understand of ourselves, our emotions and connection to others
- investigate human and group dynamics
- expand self confidence and self expression
- empower ourselves in facilitation skills
- reflect on the implementation of a more bodily and artistic dimension in the work with young people

We offer the opportunity to self assess your contribution on a sliding scale between 120 – 250 euro (to be paid in cash upon arrival).
